This project was an experiment combining screenprinting with text. It was a challenge to incorporate everything in the right position. Creating this Illustration for the poster took many attempts of designing a very intricate background and changing the color palette many times. Eventually, I decided the screen print with text was enough to get the message across since there is so much detail and color in the bird and the woman herself I did not want too much of a distraction from the poster as a whole, but more so an afterthought.
A woman kneels, transfixed by the unknown. A tree stump, fused with her being, symbolizes her search for what’s missing. Above her, a solitary crow gazes in the same direction, representing a messenger from beyond, carrying secrets of her loss. She remains unaware, awaiting the moment of revelation posed within the stump until she’s liberated to reclaim what’s been lost.
